As a die hard Iowa fan, I can confirm that we (I at least) feel pretty much the same as you. I LOVE Kirk, I think he deserves a statue when he hangs it up, but there are days where it is so frustrating to be an Iowa fan. Remember we had to live through the Brian Ferentz OC era. Yikes. I understand that we will (likely) not win a National Championship with him, but I do realize and appreciate that we are always much closer to the top than the bottom. And a 10 win season is always a strong likelihood. And you are SPOT ON with the Wisconsin comparison.

Iowa fan and I pretty much agree with everything, I would actually give him a B+ because Tim Lester has been a great hire and despite some inconsistencies defensively, our offense was actually exciting to watch, and we were MUCH closer to a cfp appearance than people appreciate with how close the Indiana and Oregon games were.

I definitely expected an uptick from my cornhuskers

Us Iowa fans from 2020-2023 reached a breaking point and wanted Kirk gone with the whole Brian ferentz fiasco but because we got a new OC who fans love + (I think this goes under the radar) a new AD who has just killed it in every way for us across the athletic department, it really gave Kirk and the fan base new life and energy. Overall Iowa fans are equally excited for the future with Kirk and after kirk when that day comes

Why did you stop at like four coaches

B+ for Ferentz. He use to drive me nuts but as I get older I really appreciate what he’s done with three star athletes. All Iowa does is produce NFL starters year after year. The best developmental program in the country. Not to mention you know the bad year is 8 wins and they win 10 pretty regularly.
