The best choice UGA ever made was hiring Kirby Smart. People forget that Mark Richt was a really good coach, 10-2/9-3 every year in the SEC which is not easy. They made the bold choice to fire a really good coach and go get a great coach.

My dad…a ferocious Dawgs fan…he loved Coach Richt. I did as well, but it was obvious that we were never going to get to the promised land. Dad and I were frying the Thanksgiving turkey and I expressed my enthusiasm about the decision. Dad got very angry with me and said he doesn’t think he will ever see another natty in his lifetime. My father is not the type of guy you want to argue with, but I told him blatantly that he was wrong. Fast forward a decade and my dad is 75…still kicking and has 2 natties! We’re not done yet y’all! Thank you Kirby for proving my old man wrong…even though he never will admit it! Sic em!!!
