Drunk Teen Girl Slams into New Mexico Cop’s Patrol Car

An underage driver trying to flee a drag-racing scene in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, crashed her truck into a deputy’s patrol car, sending the deputy to the hospital and sparking a tense arrest. Deputies identified the driver as 18-year-old Ashley Loya, who showed signs of intoxication, failed sobriety tests, and was taken to jail on multiple charges including aggravated battery on a peace officer and DWI. Months later, Loya pleaded guilty to DWI and a lesser evading charge, while the remaining charges were dismissed and her sentence deferred. Law&Crime’s Elizabeth Millner goes Inside the Crime.
