Beauty Queen Cheerleader Hit with Manslaughter Indictment in Newborn’s Death

A grand jury has indicted former University of Kentucky cheerleader Laken Snelling on new charges, including first-degree manslaughter, in the death of the newborn she allegedly gave birth to in her apartment in Lexington, Kentucky. Investigators say Snelling admitted she gave birth alone, later placed the baby, who an autopsy suggests was born alive and died of asphyxia, into a trash bag in a closet after attempting to clean up the scene, then left the apartment and ordered McDonald's.
