I have no psychology degree; they won't even let me play one on TV. But a Psychopath having no ability to recognize the suffering of other people seems to go hand in hand with misogyny, and every other issue raised.
Thank you Cynthia and Alyssa for informing us ❤.
Those horrible Tate brothers gone to mind
I hope the concept of the links between misogyny and violent extremism spreads, with man on woman/ children domestic violence as a part of the mess. However, we also need to link "I will protect them whether they want it or not" attitude, "lovingly" putting the females and children into a position with fewer rights, into the definition of misogyny. The attitude of entitlement and inherent wisdom in that attitude is part of seeing others as property, and part of developing the "duty" to kill others who disagree with one's point of view.
Thanks to you both. I have been very concerned for some time about the case of INCELS, and the violent rhetoric and activity aimed at women and girls. And, of course, having identified rapists, misogynists , and toxic males in our government now gives permission and encouragement to follow these examples as the masculine norm or aspiration. Very troubling. Recently, as I was contemplating this topic, I became convinced there is an element of shame within these men that causes them to push extremely hard against allowing that shame to arise. They will do anything even violence to prevent their shame from intruding into their "construct" of masculinity. The fact that there are "adult" males "teaching" young men on podcasts and making money on these false narratives about women is sickening, angering, and fear provoking to me.
Great work, Cynthia! This caustic tradition of men passing down their misogynystic programming by their behavior and messaging to younger generations must come to an end if we're ever to achieve a true equality. I'm quite surprised you didn't mention the role this programming played during the presidential campaign of 2024, as our idiot's campaign weaponised misogyny to a level where the previous programming of many men provoked their decision to vote against the more responsible and better qualified candidate. In the future, any woman interested in running for president will be forced to develop countermeasures to such weaponised misogyny if they're serious about winning what's left of our White House.
Excellent reporting. Appreciate your insight
Important topic. I have personally notice a rise in misogyny that seemed to be tied to Harris losing the Presidential election. I also noticed a small bump after Hillary Clinton lost. I am involved in a male dominated hobby.
Our culture's struggle to consistently bring consequences is huge, they're trained by conditioning to believe theyre entitled to offend & re offend
They still aren't listening. Hopefully, one day, society will want to change.
