Trump BEGS Congress in MOST INSANE Scheme YET!!!

Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian cover the Treasury Department's preparations for a $250 bill featuring Trump's portrait. Federal law has banned living people from appearing on currency since 1866, when a Treasury official put his own face on a five-cent note and Congress was so embarrassed it banned the practice forever. Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina introduced the "Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act" to create an exception, calling it "the most valuable bill for the most valuable President." The bill has 15 cosponsors and has been stuck in committee for over a year. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is "conducting appropriate planning" should it pass. Brian and Shant note the contradictions: the same administration blocked the Harriet Tubman $20 bill over "counterfeiting concerns" and Trump has already made himself the first sitting president to sign currency. The bill still needs 60 Senate votes, making passage unlikely. But the fact that taxpayer resources are being spent on mock-ups while Americans pay $7 a gallon for gas tells you everything about priorities. Brian adds that most of the people who still support Trump can't afford to keep $250 in their pocket.
