Description

On this episode of Unprecedented, Michael Popok and Dina Sayegh Doll unpack a trio of Supreme Court cases with sweeping implications: the justices signal support for giving political candidates more leeway to challenge state election rules in court, a major push is underway to weaken what’s left of the Voting Rights Act—setting the stage for a rollback of hard-won civil rights, and a challenge to laws banning conversion therapy puts LGBTQ+ protections on the line under the guise of free speech. Plus, they break down the high-stakes battle over Trump’s power to send troops into American cities. SCOTUS is way too comfortable with its power. They should fear the public and I HOPES they do.

What about the elderly, the disabled, homebound people, parents with daycare concerns and people who WORK in urgent care? Mail in ballots allow for travel, military deployment, there are so many VALID reasons why it is critical to free and fair elections process. A national day off to allow more freedom for those who didn't participate in early voting would be good.
