The commission has since issued subpoenas to over a dozen entities, including the FBI, the Trump DOJ, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, and the Santa Fe Institute — a prestigious nonprofit research center that Epstein reportedly donated somewhere between $275,000 and $700,000 to over the years, though no wrongdoing has been alleged against the institute itself. In March 2026, state agents conducted a physical search of the property with K-9 teams, prompted in part by an unverified tip that two women may have been buried on the grounds. The current owners — the family of former Texas state Sen. Don Huffines, who purchased the property in 2023 — cooperated with the search. Separately, in May 2026, the New Mexico Department of Justice sent preservation letters to more than 25 companies — JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Google, Apple, WhatsApp, American Express, PayPal, AT&T, Verizon, American Airlines, Expedia, and others — demanding that financial records, flight logs, ticketing data, and communications tied to Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and associates be locked down immediately. JPMorgan had already filed hundreds of suspicious activity reports on Epstein while he was alive. The state is now zeroing in on the full logistical infrastructure behind the ranch: who flew in, who paid, who knew, and whether the federal government had evidence it deliberately sat on.
