Lamberth said Lake "repeatedly thumbed her nose" at statutory requirements and that the administration made no effort to defend the merits of shutting the network down. The irony is staggering — VOA reaches 360 million people a week in more than 40 languages, and the Trump administration itself recalled Farsi-speaking staff when it needed propaganda support for the war in Iran.
