The Reality of Being 55 vs What I Imagined

You look good at 55!

I birthed my daughter at 40 and same story as you, after long marriage was dumped and had to move into small place as single mom. My kids were little so I did really enjoy my 40s just being super mom, lol! My 40s were my best decade too, even though I had a broken 💔 heart, I had my kids 💯🩷💯🩷 Now I'm 57 and bought a huge home that's for my kids anytime they want, bedrooms for them always. My daughter is my baby at 17 so I'm still enjoying that so much, she's quite the momma's girl so I'm cherishing that. My 21 year old son is finishing University here in California. We all got thru a lot together. I'm so grateful. You just look absolutely gorgeous. I need to try a lil harder on my appearance, I'm too comfortable being old momma - lol! I also love my dogs, they are my babies 🩷💯🩷 I do not want to date at all. Men show plenty of interest, but I'm just too happy, comfortable, and secure to bother with dating. I worked so hard to buy a beautiful home for my children there's no way I'm gonna share it with some guy. I'm so mean but I lost everything in the marriage so not that again. Yes, I grew up in flight or fight too, I so understand. It has kept a fire 🔥🔥🔥 under my ass and is probably the reason I was able to buy a nice home 🏡 But whoa, I spent 17 years living in a mobile home with my kids and it was hard but I saved saved saved and now here we are. I'm so grateful ! Thank you for sharing it with us 🩷💯🩷💯🩷

I totally get it. I'm 68 now and still can't believe it, until I look in the mirror - lol! You look fabulous! Enjoy every moment.

The weird thing is - at 59 i still look at people my age with the eyes of my 17-25 year old self.
