Description

I'll be 55 this year with no retirement savings — and YouTube just paid me for a single video that crossed 100,000 views. In this video, I'm revealing the exact dollar amount, breaking down YouTube ad revenue, RPM, and what those numbers really mean for late-start creators. If you're over 50 and wondering whether it's too late to build income online, this is the reality check you need. I started my YouTube tutorials at age 64 with 45 subscribers. I am now 70 and closing in on 700,000 subscribers. It has changed my entire business model. 😃

I'm 61, in the early stages I had a video go over 300k views when I had no idea what I was doing. Got me over 4K subs and monetized quick. 😸

I just started my content and really don't know what I'm doing but I finally started creating videos and I'm learning, you can tell lol. My skill is making poor decisions and starting over in my 50s and doing quite well now. Like from zero to on track to retire!!

I'm 53 and just started my channel 2 months ago and it's going fabulously in my opinion! I'm literally just telling travel stories from my 15 years spent as a destination writer in Jamaica. I honestly can't believe how quickly I'm gaining traction and engagement. LOVE IT!! And most of all, I'm having fun with it 😊

I'm 😊 to hear about this. I am 63, had 16 layoffs over my career. I experienced autoimmune conditions all my life without a good solution to heal. It pushed me to learn all about it. Then, around age 55. I had my last layoff. Then parents got sick. Then around 5 years later they both passed from COVID and other things. I was the executor. I closed all up 2024. I had legal fights with my house since 2009. I learned a lot. Now after I tried to find work. I hit the ageism wall. I'm shocked because I still have school loans, mortgage and other bills. I lost so much money because of issues. I just applied for social security so I can have something coming in ni pray 🙏 that I can use this to keep my home. It's sad. The government, mortgage company, and financial systems caused layoffs and they will not do anything about it. They blame us for not paying bills. Now, I'm using ai training, reviewing YouTube channel, and looking at consulting work. Thank you for sharing. ❤

I see your comments, WOW, I really don't see any downers. You encourage me to no end, your viewers are your best ever. I 78 yrs. have experience many things, but I really enjoy just sharing, cooking good meals, freezing with $$ to save, saving on cooling off areas and apartments for pennies.

I just hit 66 and my channel is growing steadily, I started the channel when I was 58 so have to say 55 should bot be a show stopper for anyone. It's definitely a niche channel but I would call it successful. It is also a good source of additional income. I've also branched off to Amazon and find that doing both is lucrative. I still work full time but would encourage anyone interested in building a channel to give it a shot. I would also say that you should do your homework first, have a good niche that looks like it does well. Here's something that has helped grow my channel, I find topics videos in my niche that are pretty crappy and do them better. Those have been the best performers for me and have helped the channel grow!

I am 57 years old and also started to reignite my old channel that has been stagnant for almost 5 years with less than hundred subscribers. It’s not easy but I will continue.
