Over the years, my children's friends always knew there were rules here that I was serious about, and that any word from my wife or myself was final. We also eat dinner at the table together as a family every night, and guests were required to join us. Our house was NEVER empty, some of their friends damn near grew up at our place. Our table was never empty - most of their friends had never experienced it as a family routine. Kids need rules, authority, and connection - the proof is in how many young adults still call us mom or dad and thank us for their time at our place.
The strangest part of the sleepover story was doing that on a school night.
A normal parent would be embarrassed for their kid to act like that to an adult
I work with children for the last 25 years… gentle parenting HAS RUINED a whole generation… ITS SCARY
Reddit: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.
If you are in a relationship where your significant other has a "pass" to sleep with someone else or, worse yet, sleeps _with_ someone else there are three things you need to know... 1) You are not in a relationship 2) You are not loved 3) You can do better
I missed Walsh doing the whole AITA series from Reddit, lol.
When I was a teenager and dating my now husband, his mom would serve salmon regularly. I hate salmon. She had no idea for 3 years until my dad happened to open his mouth at my high school graduation. She asked why I never said anything and I responded that I was raised to eat what is put in front of you graciously. We have been together 14 years and married 8.
The first situation, the girlfriend sounds like my son's first girlfriend. He ultimately dumped her and met an angel and soulmate. Been happily married for six years now!
My dad would absolutely say "what did you do?"
