The Savage Crime That The Media Doesn’t Want You To Know About | Ep. 1653
Media Blackout on Violent Crime and Cultural Symbolism of Submission
Uncover how media selectively covers violence and analyze why specific cultural indicators—from city logos to baseball game etiquette—reflect deeper societal failings.
Short Summary
- Judge ignores violent felon's extensive history, enabling the murder of a refugee in Charlotte.
- Political leaders manipulate tragedy, prioritizing image control over accountability for the crime.
- Cultural decay is demonstrated when men publicly submit out of fear to aggressive demands.
- The episode contrasts these failures with delayed policy action regarding gun rights for unstable populations.
The host critiques the media's refusal to cover the murder of Ukrainian refugee Ireina Zerutska, contrasting this silence with intense coverage of other events. The discussion pivots to political considerations, analyzing proposals to restrict gun access based on mental state, before concluding with cultural critiques regarding aesthetics and public deference. These events, the speaker argues, show a unifying pattern of prioritizing feelings over necessary severity.

My local news mentioned it this morning and then closed their brief report with "Republicans are outraged' about the murder. I felt like throwing my remote at the tv and said "Everyone should be outraged!"
Why are people with 30 arrests not rotting in jail. I don’t care how small those crimes are this is just ridiculous
Dead thieves never re-offend
If the races were swapped, and the victim was a hispanic migrant, with a white suspect, this would be all over the news as a hate crime. They would be blaming trump and his rhetoric for influencing this type of hate.
Colin Flaherty always said "Whatever the numbers are, they're worse"
Anytime a horrific crime happens and the media is crickets, we know why.
My wife showed me that video over the weekend and the first words out of my mouth were, "Let me guess, he's got an arrest record a mile long?"
I dont want to live in a society that sacrifices the safety of its citizens for criminals. I want to live in a society that sacrifices the safety of its criminals for the safety of its civilians.
Because the violence is coming from a small faction of repeat offenders, we don't have to make any more laws. We just have to enforce the ones we have.
Been saying this for two decades at least. If we do not start enforcing severe penalties for crimes, we are never going to pull this society out of the spiral that it’s in.
