Cultural Rot Has Brought Violent Young Losers to Celebrate Charlie Kirk's Death, with Stu Burguiere
Societal Decay: Technology, Collectivism, and the Inhumanity of Political Extremes
Understand how the decline in personal connection, driven by technology, combines with collectivist ideology to erode basic human empathy, particularly observed on the political left.
Short Summary
- Recognize the profound grief experienced by Charlie Kirk’s surviving family after his sudden death.
- Identify quantifiable drops in face-to-face interaction across the population due to smartphone reliance.
- Analyze how removing faith and increasing group-based thinking (collectivism) leads to celebrating the misfortunes of political opponents.
This discussion connects the immediate tragedy of a political figure's passing with broad societal declines. Tune in to see how technology adoption and shifting ideologies impact fundamental human compassion and shape the behavior of young activists.

I became a widow to a 3 yr old and a 6 week old and the only thing that breaks your heart more then losing your husband is your babies losing their daddy.
That baby singing to her brother with her sweet little voice broke me. It’s just not fair.
Megyn, I still get emotional when I talk about Charlie. I have mourned more from his death than my own fathers death. I understand now that when a true member of the body of christ is martyred we, as Christians feel it profoundly.
My father also died at 31 when I was two. I don't remember him but my mom told me that it took a long time before I would stop asking "When is Daddy coming home?" I can't imagine what the Kirk family has been going through to grieve while also dealing with these smug ghouls.
But they all find the time to protest. Make that make sense
I see a ton of comments on X that target Erika and demean her despite her being a recent widow. It makes me sick.
People who celebrate the tragic murder of someone is just plain and simple..EVIL and SICK!!! I live in Minnesota and believe me, was NO fan of how Melissa Hortman ran the state house. I was furious with her, but when she was assassinated back in June, I cried for her and her family. We didn't see people celebrate her death!!!
I sooo agree - let's parent better. I also believe that because most of these uncaring young people have never had anything traumatic or hurtful happen to them they do not understand the terrible way it makes others feel. I remember one day showing a picture of my newborn to a fellow employee and she said "newborns are so ugly". Years later she got married and started having children. When I next saw, a few years later, the first thing she did was apologize for her comment. It obviously had been on her mind but back then she didn't realize how hurtful it was. My incident isn't anywhere near what Erika Kirk is going through. And, like you said Megyn, I also have people I truly dislike but would NEVER wish for harm to come to them or their children or family!!!!
I prayed for this family. When my wife passed I came home from work one day and as I entered the house I could hear this horrible wailing, it reminded me of a gut shot animal. I went upstairs to my 16 year old Sons bedroom and he was laying in a fetal position on the floor making that God awful noise. Never forget it. Megan, You're right about having to pull it all together at your weakest moment. Hard. My family prays for her and their family
