Description

Rebecca Bennett is the eighteenth woman in the history of the U.S. Navy to qualify as a test pilot. At a moment when this administration keeps questioning whether women belong at the front of America's military, her story is its own answer. Last week, Rebecca turned the mic on Maura. This week the roles reverse. Maura sits down with her co-host to trace the path that shaped her—from small-town Texas, to Navy ROTC and the hardest engineering program she could find, to flying helicopters through the Strait of Hormuz, to becoming one of only eighteen women ever to qualify as a U.S. Navy test pilot, to building a life of leadership and service beyond the uniform. This isn't a campaign interview. It's a conversation about service, leadership, sacrifice, and why these stories matter now more than ever. A final investigation has revealed that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth slashed the Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response staff at Central Command from 10 members down to a single person, which hindered the military's ability to identify outdated intelligence before the fatal airstrike on an Iranian school, military officers ignored warnings that their strike database was out of date.

As a young female Airman in the 70’s I thank both of you for your service and your trailblazing for women. I am crushed that women in the military are being treated so horribly.

Women are finally being recognized for their skills, not only in the military, but in engineering as well. I am proud to say that my daughter graduated with two engineering degrees ….as only one of fifteen double engineering degrees out of 750. My granddaughter recently graduated with a double engineering degrees. It was also wonderful to see that more than 50% of the engineering graduates were female, and was informed by my son-in-law that engineering companies are actively recruiting female engineers because they are “more detail oriented “.
