Former Maine Governor Paul LePage has called himself “Trump before Trump” and has proven that to be the case consistently. From blatant and unrepentant bigotry and racism to denying he even lost election to Janet Mills. After retiring to Florida, he has reared his ugly head again in Maine running for the 2nd Congressional District that is now an open seat with the retirement of Democrat Jared Golden. He has a real challenger in the race from Democrat Jordan Wood. Jordan was born and raised in Lewiston, went to middle school in Gardiner, and graduated from St. Dominic Academy in Auburn.
