As someone who is Native American I’m truly thankful for Christianity. Imagine trying desperately to defend child sacrifice. Can’t say it’s much of a surprise actually. Glad my family became Catholics.

"But it was considered an honor" Some years ago, local Natural History Musuem had a Mummy exhibit. I took my kids. There was a mummified girl who had been sacrificed in the mountains of South America.. She was left in an ice cave to freeze to death, alone. Information at the display detailed why they decided it was religious sacrifice. The couple next to me was a young man & woman. The woman was upset at the idea of abandoning a child (about 12) to freeze to death. The man comforted her with, "but it was considered an honor." She wasn't convinced any mom would be honored. I've since learned that most child sacrifices were slave children.

"It's not that they were violent" is such a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Aztecs viewed themselves. It would have deeply offended them. They rejoiced and celebrated their own violence, because they viewed themselves as a dominating warrior culture. Ask any of the non-Aztec tribes used as slaves and sacrifices, all the way to Guatemala, if they viewed them as violent or not. Theu were indigenous too, where's the respect for their views? The reason the Spanish won is bc literally every tribe banded against the Aztecs bc they hated them with a fiery passion.

But christians won't hear the end of the Crusades, which was mostly self-defense 😅

As a woman I agree that Men need Men only spaces. I also think We Women need ( I mean born female) women only spaces. These spaces allows places for friendship, private sharing, and councling from the older to the younger.

They are the same people that say you have to adopt a dog and are a bad person if you buy one.

I have a degree in anthropology, and my specialty was cultural anthropology. I was in a class focused on the amazon, and my instructor talked about the damage that missionaries did. Specifically Christian missionaries. And I mentioned to him that the modern-day missionaries leave the culture as intact as possible and really try to be a lot more culturally sensitive. Another classmate asked about that and asked if that was better. The instructor said it was essentially worse because then it would be successful. Mind you neither he or any other prof said one word about Islam and how they conquered the entire middle east and north africa. They weren't culturally sensitive at all and dominated. It doesnt matter to academia. Those are not white christians so its ok
