The U.S. is a factory, you come here to make and save money and then you go somewhere cheaper to retire. Staying here is like never clocking out of work and wondering why you’re always stressed.

I depends on the life style you want- no mortgage/no debt = retiring on way less !!!

My grandpa in law just passed away at the age of 89. Before he passed away, I had a good talk to him about retirement. I told him, you're experiencing a part of life I never will experience. Now he worked very hard to get were he was but...he enjoy 30 years of retirement, retired at 59 years old. I mean legit retirement, golfing every week, wood crafting projects, hunting, fishing, time with kids, grandkids and great grand kids. House and cars paid off. That's a life style that no one (very very few) my age (I'm 40) is going to see. I'm not jealous of pop pop, I just let him know, what you experienced, that's not going to be the norm anymore. He was very money and information Savey and he agreed, things have changed for the worst.

Honestly at this point I hope I’m dead before I have to worry about retirement.

You nailed it they keep moving the goalpost on us. Things change faster now than they ever have in the past like housing prices or rent.

I really hate this country and what it has become…what people have allowed it to turn into. This “system” is completely broken and/or rigged and I don’t want to play. America has turned into nothing but vanity, materialism, superficiality, and greed…and I want no part of it. Makes me sad that so many people are mind-f*cked into thinking, “Just work harder!”, but that’s the whole reason we’re talking about this… Everyone is miserable. Everyone is broke. No one has hany hope. And we just have to “accept it” and “work harder”??? For what? So that I’m exhausted everyday and can’t even enjoy my life, nor afford simple things like HOUSING, FOOD, etc… Forget about attracting a woman, having a family, or taking vacations…Americans can’t even afford to take care of themselves! America is so f*cked up! I don’t want any part of this trash “society”.
