I don't buy or sell based on emotions but I will say that I'm bad at constantly checking my stocks and it can affect my mood depending on which way the market is going. So I've tried to make it a point to not check my stocks so that my mood isn't affected.
I don’t know enough to pick stocks well, so I buy ETFs and let other people figure out what’s likely to be successful.
This is why I don't own very much in stocks. I highly prefer funds.

Crazy how greed and fear keep repeating in every market cycle. Human psychology never changes
One of the biggest wealth killers in the market is discovering what options are 😅
I made the first mistake you mentioned. I bought shares in companies listed paying dividends for over fifty years. After 3 years my account lost money even though I collected dividends every quarter. After many years comparing news accounts "hype" and the response the market had I decided to hold out when Trump announced his tariff plan. The pundits predicted a financial catastrophe but I knew it was all BS. Instead I did what you preach ABB.
Wait, I’m the silly neighbor 😂
