The term "living comfortably" doesn't calculate everyone's lifestyle.
My Dad retired at 52 and has pretty much done nothing but watch TV. He is now 86 and happy as can be.
If government gave crap about helping retirees, iRAs, 401(k), and for that matter, Social Security payments would be completely tax-free.
"The government doesn't have that money!" 🙂 Yet somehow BILLIONS AND BILLIONS year after year are sent to foreign nations, BUUUUT we have no money.
Retired at 53 and I have my health. I exercise eat well and get out and do things as often as I can. I feel better than when I was 50 and I’m 57 now. Work on yourself in retirement
Bought 14 acres for $20,000. Taken two years but built my own tiny home on it. Taxes are $200 a year. I’ll be fine with 500k or less. Land can provide food. I won’t have a Ferrari but I’ll be fine.
That's why you hear politicians proposing to raise retirement age to 70. I call that modern day slavery. Instead of physical chain, they use monetary chain.
I've paid SS since I was 14 years old. At 53 still paying in, that is my money I would like hell somenof it back before I drop dead.
We paid into it for 50 plus years and we 2:57 should be able to get it back. The government is bailing everyone out except social security.
