Love how openai are suddenly generous with free features once an actual free competition came to the market
Thank you, DeepSeek for pushing the envelope.
Talking about R1 reasoning, it's great because the model literally tells you how to improve your prompt in it's reasoning it goes like "but wait, the user did not specify <specific thing>" you can let it struggle with that and come up with a mid answer or you can immediately interrupt it and edit your prompt with that information. In this way, DeepSeek's reasoning is quite a back-and-forth, you get to literally brainstorm with the model steering it towards the answer that you're looking for
We need to thank Deepseek for this!!!
It still cost more than Deepseek by 27X
Saying βDeepSeek is a crimeβ is a crime.
What can I say? FREE is a GOOD PRICE!
I am one of the earliest fans Matt, you are one of the best people who talk about Ai. Google has publicly stated that it will not develop AI for weapons or surveillance. However, its involvement in Project Nimbus, a $1.2 billion cloud computing deal with the Israeli government and military, contradicts what have u mentioned. This project enables AI-driven technologies like facial detection, object tracking, and sentiment analysis, which have been previously used for surveillance and military purposes. Employees and activists have repeatedly raised concerns that this technology is being used to violate Palestinian human rights, yet Google has ignored them and even retaliated against whistleblowers. If Google truly stands by its ethical commitments, it should immediately terminate Project Nimbus and ensure its technology is not used for oppression. Anything less is hypocrisy.
Thank you DeepSeek for showing everyone that the high level models donβt actually take all that much compute to run π
government when google uses AI for weapons : "oh that's ok " Also government when deepseek helps reduce costs : "you are sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment "
