Description

9 free skills and plug-ins that make Claude Code, Codex, and other AI coding agents dramatically more useful, and yes, all of them are free. Skills and plug-ins are reusable instruction files that give your AI agent a repeatable behavior instead of starting from scratch every time. In this video I break down 9 of my favorites, install them live, and put several of them head to head so you can see exactly what changes. I cover GStack (turns Claude Code into a full virtual engineering team), Stop Slop (strips AI tells out of your writing), Graphify (turns any codebase or knowledge base into a queryable graph your agent can use as memory), Understand Anything (visual onboarding maps for any codebase), Last 30 Days (real time sentiment research across Reddit, X, YouTube, and more), Anthropic's Front End Design skill and the Taste skill (head to head design tests), and ReMotion vs HyperFrames (AI generated animations from a single prompt). Every skill works across Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenClaw, Hermes, VS Code, and GitHub Copilot. Links to every single one below. Most people spend all their time comparing models when the real gains come from better workflows, skills and systems around them. the fact that these work across multiple tools is probably the most valuable part because you're not locked into one ecosystem. AI Shortcuts for the Lazy Mind by Trent Calloway talks about a similar idea of building reusable AI workflows instead of starting from scratch every time. Definitely picked up a few things from this one🙌

Fun list. Literally copy/pasted the "Skills and plug-ins mentioned:" section in the video description and had Codex install them all 💪. Will play with them and eliminate the ones that I'm not too crazy about. Great list Matt!
