hahaha I sat next to Josh Weissenstein on an airplane once to NYC; he was sending emails for his business and I talked his ear off asking questions about his business. He was busy but graciously answered all of them on the plane ride home to Brooklyn. Super nice guy!

"Their ability to BS is higher than my ability to detect BS" might be a top 10 quote for the pod. LOL, I could feel the tension/awkwardness when they said $7m valuation...

This is something that I think most of us want, just like Shaans brother in law, real people making money in many different ways. A very small percentage of us are going to create an AI company

“Start with your number” nice! Btw, it’d be cool to watch an episode on the numbers behind MFM itself 🤩

For the second dude, the answer is you need to give your staff the experience you expect them to give your staff on a quarterly basis. I would plan a quarterly trip where you get them together, and SHOW them what a great experience really is. Before the trip, send them a survey, find out what their favourite snacks and drinks are, what size shirt they wear, their favourite childhood movie, their kids names and ages, dogs names etc. When they arrive, there is a gift bag waiting for them with custom gifts unique to them. Plan a team outing, let’s say dinner, but they show up to a reserved room, their name is on the table with a jacket or shirt or something for them. The next morning another outing, say rafting, kayaking etc. hire a photographer to take photos, once the photos are done, get a picture of them printed and a picture of them with someone else printed, framed and have them left in their room while you are all out at dinner. And so on.. When they leave they’ve experienced what it feels like to be cared for, to be over delivered for. They also meet and build relationships with others in the company. Then lastly I would start a weekly brag. Each team member is asked to send in one thing they did for a guest that was creative, where they over delivered. Most creative gets a gift card, company clothing, etc A guest is out of dog food, go get some for them A kid gets a scuffed knee, special bandaids and a toy Notice a guest running low on fire wood and bring them some extra You can’t expect them to even know how to over deliver, because no one has ever done it for them. Show them, make them feel it, and they’ll follow your lead
