As a republican, I do not agree with this at all. I like the fact that we have term limits and elections every four years for the president. I like the fact that they can only stay in eight years. I actually wish Congress and Senate had turn limits as well. Eight years max would be great.

99% of congress absolutely does not give a dang about stopping waste and abuse. Putting almost anything in front of them first is a complete waste of time.

In the U.S., the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution limits a person to serving two terms (eight years) as president. The only way to change this would be to amend the Constitution, which is a difficult process requiring: Congressional Approval – A proposed amendment must pass both the House and Senate with a two-thirds majority or be proposed by a constitutional convention (which has never happened before). State Ratification – Three-fourths (38 out of 50) of the U.S. states must approve the amendment.
