I lived in a room as a child locked away literally, there was a lock on my bedroom door and eventually a lock was put on my window after neighbors reported to my parents that I was out on the roof as if was a second story home, this happened back in the early 70's I am 66 now, I pissed in jars, was only allowed out for dinner, and school, and no one did anything and I figured this was the normal. I did start running away and my mon called the police and when they came I met Detective Mand, who I will never forget, he was a hero to me. When he asked me in his car if I wanted to go to jail or stay at the house I looked at him and said jail. He got out of the car came to the back and told me to get out of the car, which I did thinking he was sending me back to my mom, he told me to get in the front seat that was the last time I ever stepped into that home. He saw the locks on the door and window and the living conditions but nothing was ever done to hold my mom and her bf accountable. I wasn't a bad child the reason I was locked away I truly believe is that I later found out my moms bf was raping my sisters and beating my mother and I was most likely a threat to this but all the abuse and things he was doing kept me in fear as it did with the whole family. My point behind sharing is to say we adjust in time as Bryan will adjust, it is how we work. To this day I still do often wonder why no one helped me, from the schools I went to to my mom and her bf's friends, to my own family and to law enforcement. Back then child abuse was hush hush under the rug.. I still feel most safe in my room alone its how I was raised, I do not cause trouble or problems I am not a tuff guy I am still in many ways a child trying to figure out life.

The mighty Kohberger will surely miss his late-night drives to 'watch the night sky'.

The TV and tablet are a practical consideration. Without them I bet they found that people went insane and were therefore more difficult and expensive to house.

People get sent to prison as punishment. Not FOR punishment. Words matter.
