I have a friend who worked for mayor Pete in the department of transportation. He said he was the best boss he ever had.

The most eye opening thing about this episode is that these guys have the capacity to push on politicians but kept that energy real quiet when trump was around.

Odd how being genuine and authentic is now the gold standard behavior for politicians, and not the baseline for entering politics. We need more Pete in these rooms and spaces.

As a conservative male (not MAGA), born and raised in TX, with a gay son, I have a great amount of respect for Pete. He's articulate and demonstrates gratitude and empathy. You dont see a lot of politicians like Pete on either side of the isle. This was a good conversation.

I like how Pete is a master communicator. He never forgot who his original question came from. Even when someone asked a supportive question, he turned back to the original person who asked the question to maintain that intimacy. Bravo Pete!

Not to glaze Pete too much but, having a government official speaking so openly and passionately about public transit was a breath of fresh air bc we are SO BEHIND the rest of the world when it comes to a comprehensive transportation network between and within states.
