Description

Learn More About Anydesk: https://anydesk.com/spacetime The biggest news in cosmology in recent years is that the mysterious universe-accelerating entity we call dark energy may be fading away. The evidence for this is now strong enough that enormous effort is going into confirming this result. So what’s it going to take, and when are we going to know? Babe, wake up. The accelerating expansion of the universe might not result in the ultimate heat death of the universe.

So, the history of cosmology now goes like this: Einstein: "The universe has a constant size." Hubble: "The universe's size is not constant, but its expansion has constant speed." Perlmutter, Schmidt, Riess: "The universe's expansion speed is not constant, but its acceleration is." Now: "The universe's expansion acceleration is not constant, but its jerk is."

The idea that dark energy might not be a constant is a reminder of how science works, each new observation opens the door to better models, not final answers. This video does a great job translating that evolving process.

I'm still waiting for the Black Hole Sun to come and wash away the rain.

A tactical comment to feed the algorithm. A second sentence of that comment. A clever conclusion.

The visualization for the slight skewing of many galaxies was super cool to see evolve
