Description

Black holes are not just the strangest objects in the universe, they're the sharpest test we have of how reality actually works. This episode explores how these extreme cosmic laboratories force general relativity and quantum physics into direct confrontation. We look back through a decade of content to understand their formation and the theoretical diagrams that describe them, offering a journey through the profound implications of these celestial objects for our understanding of space time and astrophysics. I think its pretty funny that this is presented as a comprehensive longplay about black holes and the first thing Matt-from-10-years-ago does is give you a prerequisite

Condensing 10 years into 90 minutes sounds like black hole behavior to me 🧐 Also woo 10 years of PBS Space Time!

Video also does a great job of demonstrating time dilation - 90 minutes for us ages Matt a decade!

Thanks Matt for doing these videos. I’ve been listening to you for many many years. Through Uni, different jobs, different relationships, but coming to these videos at night has given me comfort. I know you can’t do it for ever so for now, know that it is appreciated.

I’ve been watching you guys regularly since the days of Gabe. The first video in this longplay was a serious throwback. I started watching you guys when I was a mid-20s undergrad in physics and now I’m watching you with my students as mid-30s high school math and physics teacher. You guys have grown so much and I love seeing how successful this channel has become. Cheers from Iowa.
