Miyazaki prolly feels like Oppenheimer
“Soulslike has become the hero shooter of the 2020s” is moistcritical’s modern Shakespeare
These new soulslike games fail because they do not have any poison swamps..
Souls-like, nowadays, basically just means "third person action game with a stamina bar and attacks on the bumpers."
I think the reason for Soulslike fatigue is because there's so many of them coming, with not many of them having anything to really stand out. They don't really innovate in any meaningful ways, a lot of them are basically the same as each other, and most of them miss a lot of other factors that make, for example, FromSoft games so special.
Someone had to say it. A 5 star meal is amazing until you have it everyday then its just a meal.
Just wait till people start saying "soulslop"
Ah yes, the gaming industry innovation pipeline: Step 1 — See popular trend. Step 2 — Copy it to death. Step 3 — Act shocked when players are bored. We’ve gone from hero shooters to battle royales to co-op horror, and now it’s Souls-likes.
Artificial difficulty is so fatigue.
I miss my Devil May Cry's, my Nier's, my Ninja Gaiden's, my Darksiders. Not everything has to be like "Super hard Soulslike that will punish you for dying"
