"Don't sleep on this movie" says Insomnia Man
You damn know well that the fuckass Game Awards won’t nominate either Exit 8 or Iron Lung for best adaptation, but Super Mario Galaxy and Netflix DMC 2 will
I like this trend of indie horror games getting movies. Especially when they're made by people that clearly like the game, and do a good job of adding characters to an otherwise silent game.
Bro really saw a random child standing in an empty subway and immediately went, 'Yep, that's an anomaly.' Honestly? The most realistic reaction possible.
I clicked on this video about 45 minutes ago, saw it was for exit 8, thought "oh, that's released now?", opened my Cinemark app, saw they had a showing at 9:30pm, messaged my brother, bought tickets, and now we're sitting in the theatre waiting for trailers to end. I'm less than 60 seconds into the video, I'll watch it when I'm out. I saw Markiplier play this game a few years ago, probably will be a decent movie
having read this filmmaker’s novel "If cats disappeared from the world," he seems to be really into the idea of being stuck in a loop of regret and rethinking your life choices once you’re in a place of no return. i thought this game’s adaptation worked really well for him.
what this movie and something like Iron Lung have proved is that people don't care about big names as much as they do good stories and faithful adaptations
4:50 paused the video, watched the movie, came back, that shit was peak ngl
"He's making irrational decisions!" Um, ya, the dude is faced with an unprecedented situation involving and impossible to exist place full of things that should be possible, and all that not long after he heard some pretty shocking news from his wife. Do people forget that to the character, this isn't a game they can close any time they want, it's a real situation where they feel they might never escape. He's not even some James Bond type of character, he's just some normal dude with a normal job. He also didn't play Exit 8 before this happened. Do these people think that dramatic irony (when the audience knows something that the characters don't) means that the characters are badly written or stupid?
People who cant realise why he is investigating are the kind of people who cant tell a difference between real life and the game. Curiosity is main component of our humanity and without it we would have no ability to grow.
