This is Actually the Worst Movie I've Ever Seen
Amazon Prime's War of the Worlds Declared the Worst Movie Ever Made
Discover precisely why this film is being called an insult to filmmaking and how it functions primarily as a corporate advertisement. Learn the specific plot failures that earned it the title of the worst movie ever seen by the reviewer.
Short Summary
- [00:00:34] Amazon Prime's War of the Worlds officially dethroned the previous title holder as the worst film the reviewer has ever seen.
- [00:04:05] Visual quality is described as atrocious, resembling incomplete PlayStation 1 cutscenes or poor pre-visualization rendering.
- [00:06:09] Acting is nonexistent, with performers relying solely on reading scripts without emotion or nuance.
- [00:17:41] The plot collapses under massive continuity errors, especially concerning military technology after the aliens drain global data.
- [00:10:15] Character dialogue is aggressively engineered to inject positive mentions of Amazon Prime services frequently.
This review dives deep into the narrative, presentation style (Screenlife/webcam view), and catastrophic world-building failures of the film. The discussion highlights how the movie prioritizes corporate advertising over coherent storytelling, making it an 'enjoyably shitty' experience for viewers seeking ridicule fodder.

A 0% on Rotten Tomatoes is no small feat
IMMEDIATELY I knew this was about war of the worlds, I accidentally clicked it on prime. It was so bad I made an imdb account to vote that shit into oblivion.
the fact that amazon made a movie about how collecting too much data is bad when amazon is probably the biggest data farmer on the planet is so funny to me
I read this on Rotten Tomatoes "I really don't like how a lot of modern reviewers say outlandish statements like "This is the worst movie ever made". Mainly because it devalues films like War of the Worlds, who had to work really hard to actually be one of the worst movies ever made." And that shit made me laugh so hard
The trailer literally says "it's worse than you think"
The most unrealistic part of this movie is someone enjoying being an Amazon delivery driver
someone really said on imdb, "Rooting for the aliens"
The worst part about this movie in my opinion isn't even how truly terrible it is as a story. It's the fact that they used real footage of disasters and wars and just edited in the aliens. Real footage of explosions in war-torn countries, real footage of crowds of people running for their lives, real footage where dozens if not hundreds of innocent people died. It is quite possibly the most tasteless thing Amazon has ever done.
Look, I'm a screenwriting major. Recently graduated with honors. So listening to this plot I can safely say... This isn't even a first draft of a movie. *This is what you write down when you're stoned, reread it when sober and throw it out.*
