This game doesn't need a film adaptation. It basically is a cinematic masterpiece already. Any other adaptation will fall short.
Renoir's the most rational person in the game, just wants everyone to move on. Everyone else just wants to cling to the past. Everyone else wants to escape reality.
He missed the expedition 60 journal Expedition 60 was the strongest expedition force within the lore, they managed to get to the paintress with no casualties and has many kills. (no plot armor too) Truly a gigachad team
Best 40+gigs of data I ever downloaded. Definitely GOTY material.
Timestamps of this masterpiece: Clea boss fight 1:36:05 Final boss Renoir 3:32:49 Beats Final Boss: 3:55:19 Verso ending (first pick) 4:06:13 Maelle ending (other ending) 4:17:46 Favorite GOTY this year so far/credit talk 4:29:10 Secret boss Simon 4:43:37 Beats Simon 5:19:05 Charlie states "Im going to give a review later after the side quests"
I did the Verso ending, GOOD LORD, the Maelle ending is DARK. 11/10.
What sticks out to me the most is how Renoir, the man who we think is a villain for over half the story, actually treats Verso, Sciel, and Lune as if they are real people. He never treats Painted creations as if they are less than human. It's a perfect backdrop for when he says, "do you think I want to erase Verso's Canvas?" His actions clearly show that he doesn't _want_ to override Alicia's wishes, or get in the way of Aline's grief. It's something that Verso finally understands at the beginning of Act III, which is why he becomes more quiet and closed off, especially during every cutscene. He may be a Painted creation, but he still has Verso's memories and personality. He's sick of being the reason why his family suffers, and sick of watching them tear themselves apart. Just like how the real Verso gave up his life to save Alicia, the Painted Verso is willing to sacrifice himself and his soul to save Maelle. It's really, really well done.
That maelle ending is so dark holy shit lol
Loved that the ending is not just a stereotypical "everyone wins and they live happily ever after" but actually has stakes and is realistic.
Renior was never the villian
