“Only a Question of Time” Does AI Mean We're DOOMED? Plus Oz Pearlman Reads Piers Morgan’s Mind!
AI Existential Risks, Job Pivots, and The Art of Ethical Influence
Determine if Artificial Intelligence poses an immediate threat of extinction or merely an economic shift, then learn actionable psychological tactics used by a world-leading mentalist to succeed professionally and personally.
Short Summary
- Experts intensely debate whether AI progress approaches an uncontrollable, superintelligent threat or if progress remains narrow and human-manageable.
- Analysts highlight current economic impacts, citing major layoffs due to AI pivots and concern that over-reliance on AI will cause human cognitive skills to atrophy.
- Mentalist Oz Pearlman details utilizing skills of influence and deception ethically to navigate social situations, build rapport, and stack the deck for life success.
- Author Sam Altman projects rapid AI capability growth, while Dr. Roman Yampolskiy warns that AGI control is mathematically impossible once systems surpass human intelligence.
This segment pits extreme warnings about existential threats against historical optimism regarding technological progress. It examines current job displacement and the psychological toll of deepfakes and algorithmic echo chambers. The discussion transitions sharply to Oz Pearlman, who explains how mastering observation and influence—the tools of mentalism—can be applied ethically to achieve personal goals and build meaningful relationships.

This is how educated and civil people discuss conflicting views = no yelling, no insults, no interruptions… . A very refreshing Piers Morgan show. Well done.
I’d place my bets on Dr. Roman Yampolskiy.
Really loved how Dr. Yampolskiy continued to set the record straight and did not allow his warning to be misinterpreted or skirted around
The guy who couldn’t wipe the smile of his face is living in an alternate world already.
Three things AI will definitely destroy: our capacity to think critically, jobs, and our privacy.
It’s disappointing how Yampolsky’s concerns seems to fly completely over their heads, as if they don’t understand, are too naive, or affected by ignorant childlike hubris.
Can you please have more debates like this, high brow, articulate, intelligent. Not shouting. Fantastic show.
Yampolskiy is the only one talking about the existential threat AI poses upon humanity. The others are talking about the much less significant problems that AI can cause.
The arguments forwarded by Dr Yampolskiy are far more convincing than the counterarguments forwarded by others.
What is frightening is that a few men sitting in a room are deciding what the technological future will be without our consent. The rest of the panel clearly are not getting the warning. It’s not where AI is today but where it will be 10 to 29 years from now. God knows I don’t want a machine that thinks like humans with our flaws.
