Subscribe for more Pitch Meetings: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9Kq-yEt1iYsbUzNOoIRK0g Nearly a decade ago the Guardians of the Galaxy were introduced to the world and helped turn Chris Pratt into a global phenomenon. People instantly fell in love with Peter Quill AKA Star-Lord as well as Gamora, Drax, Rocket and of course Groot. Although we all know and love these Marvel characters now, can you imagine how weird it must have been to actually pitch the first movie? A talking tree that just says his own name? A foul-mouthed gun-toting raccoon? Step inside the pitch meeting that led to Marvel’s galactic heroes and helped set up Avengers Infinity War! To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Guardians of the Galaxy! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience. I have no idea why it's so satisfying that Ryan uses the same stack of papers for all the pitch meetings. But it is.

"Sometimes they're not too far of from actual studio notes that were given" had me cracking up.

Ryan should do a pitch meeting for the "revisited pitch meeting" series. Can you imagine the lines "So this pitch meeting guy is gonna revisit his old pitch meetings" "Haven't we already done that?" "Oh yeah woops" "Woopsie" I'm only poking fun, i actually love seeing ryan out of character too. It'd be cool to see though

I mean, we all knew the studio exec _feels_ right but the fact that actual screenwriters actually confirmed that the studio notes often come frighteningly close to these sketches... wow, wow, wow. Wow.

That stick figure reference was the nostalgia I never knew I needed. Thank you Ryan.
