I just think the way they managed Bill in the game is perfect for the game with the mission to get the parts of the car and all of that, but the way they changed it for the show and gave all that emotion to the letter is just brilliant. If they keep it like that for the next six episodes then this will become one of my favorite shows of all time.
This was probably the most emotional episode so far, so glad to see the human connection between Bill and Frank. And it was cool to see Ellie in her iconic shirt.
Episode 3 was definitely my favorite episode of the show so far
Seeing how much of a tear jerker this episode was. I can only imagine how other scenes will be. Especially the controversial scene in Part 2.
I’m really glad to see that people think so highly of this episode despite of its changes from the original. Nick Offerman deserves an award
18:05 idk how people keep messing this up. Sarah didn't die on Joel's birthday (Sept 26)!! She died in the early morning (after 0216) of the 27th.
7:45 EXACTLY, Greg!! That's exactly what some folks have been ignoring when they watch a side-by-side like this and go "i liked x better in the game" "y sounded flat here :/" They are COMPLETELY forgetting about the difference in the context that led up to the scene in both mediums. And that will have a BIG effect in how the final scene might differ. Joel & Ellie are colder to each other in the show during the "your watch is broken" scene. But that is only because in the game, they are just snippy with each other and reluctant about doing this job. Meanwhile in the show in addition to this, Joel threw her against a wall, pointed a gun at her, stepped on her knife (a gift from her mom, something that is valuable to her. So ofc the game scene is going to be a bit tired and snippy. Whereas the show scene will come off as more annoyed and frustrated. Remembering that context is IMPORTANT
I took the stone stacking as him building a gravestone for Tess.
