Fun fact: the monster in this is an infant. The designer of the creature, Neville Page, said "For me, one of the most key moments in our collective brainstorming was the choice to make the creature be something that we would empathize with. It is not out there just killing. It is confused, lost, scared. It's a newborn. Having this be a story point (one that the audience does not know), it allowed for some purposeful choices about its anatomy, movement and, yes, motivations." The smaller creatures that dropped off of it were just parasites.
The viral campaigning for this movie was on another level. Each main character had its own Facebook profile that felt lived in. There were real looking web pages for companies and government organizations that didn't exist made specifically to give the audience clues to follow down this insane rabbit hole.
"At least i'll die with Doritos" is so real 💀
the last shot at Coney Island shows something falling from the sky into the ocean , hard to spot but its implied that was the monster arriving on earth
Hud to me has one of the gnarliest deaths in a found footage movie. You literally get a POV of him getting eaten and then a POV of his top half falling back to the ground while the bottom half stays in the monsters mouth. Like I imagine that off camera, his body was gory and ripped apart.
Peak monster found footage cinema of 2000’s 👌🤌🤌
There is No way the camera is as big as you are thinking. It’s most likely a handheld camcorder
Can we please, please, please please please. Get a shirt that says “we’re all gonna die. But we’ll die with Doritos”
After the credits, a voice can be heard saying, "Help us..." When played in reverse, it says, "It's still alive."
