Ngl episode 2 might be a top 3 invincible episode
The fact I like is that the show changed the conversation between mark and eve's dad because holy mother of god it was beyond uncomfortable in the comics💀💀
Crazy how child Nolan looks almost exactly like Mark. Seeing how the viltrumites grew up and were trained is really interesting, as is his not wanting to use the virus.
The reason Nolan doesnt wanna use the virus is because hes still not okay with genociding his ENTIRE race. Keep in mind Thadeus had hundreds of years of coming to terms with doing sometihing like that. I think for anyone making the decision to create a virus that kills your species is a big deal.
Young Nolan looks just like his Sons
The Viltrumite backstory in ep.2 had me completely nerding out. It’s exactly the kind of expansion on the comic lore I’ve wanted for years, and Kirkman is delivering it through the show. With Argall’s death, Thragg (he was named Regent in place of the missing/dead heirs of Argall) took control and empowered the most extreme, violent factions (himself, Conquest, Kregg types), who began eliminating anyone they saw as weak, both genuinely weaker individuals in society and anyone who opposed the regency and the ongoing Great Purge he was leading. The empire was already expansionist under Argall sure, but there were clearly internal factions pushing for change reasonably or at least living more peacefully within that system and not being persecuted. Argall’s death wiped out that peace and essentially killed any chance of possible reform/course correction. (like most power vacuum moments in real life). Thaedus “saving the day” by killing Argall actually made things far worse, allowing even more ruthless elements to seize power and continue and embolden the very cycle he was trying to break.
Being interrupted by a commercial that ended up being the new Spiderman trailer while watching a video about the new invincible season…… what a time to be a nerd.
OK, if I’m living in this world and I see a manhole cover moving on its own and then some creepy squid like pink creature comes out of it, I am running faster than I have ever run in my entire life in the opposite direction.

Something really interesting that no one seems to realize is that Rus was Mark's first actual kill. Mark has tried to kill enemies like Angstrom or Conquest but this is his first actual, purposeful kill.
