Ali calling rue his daughter at the end and seeing her spirit at the table was so damn beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time😢
You can tell that Rue's death was directly influenced by Angus Cloud's death in real life. Rue probably would've been written to survive otherwise, but the idea of turning her death into a PSA about the fent crisis in America is strong and real, and seeing Ali realize he needs to take it out at the source, and then successfully doing so, hit hard.
Colman Domingo is one of the greatest actors of our generation. I love how this was basically a showcase for him as well. He's having a stellar year playing someone evil in Michael, someone compassionate in Euphoria, someone with wonder in Disclosure Day, and also someone hilarious in The Four Seasons (which I think y'all should react to!).
Rue and Fez set me off ....... Rest In Peace Angus Cloud.
Rue's true memory gets to live on in that family. The good memory, untainted, the way it was supposed to be before drugs. Heartbreaking.
46:30 So basically when Bishop told Rue the story about the python ignoring the rats because it was looking for bigger prey he straight up said he knew she was the rat but he was watching Alamo. Up until the last episode it seemed like Rue was the rat and Alamo was the python but it turns out the real yellow snake was Bishop himself. His name literally means bishop. And that scene in the car with Maddy where he says he likes surprising people and she says human mercy would actually surprise her well he ended up showing her mercy and indirectly Ali too so I guess he really did surprise her after all. Quick update: honestly you get way more meaning and depth when you watch season 3 through a biblical lens. Take Nate - he quotes scripture earlier but ends up buried alive by a snake, classic Old Testament justice. Then Faye - she betrays Rue for nothing, screams to wake Wayne, that's literally Judas handing over Jesus for thirty silver coins but here she gets zero. And Alamo - first episode, green apple, asks Rue if God believes in her, that's the serpent in Eden making her question everything. Once you see it, it all makes sense.
Shit broke my heart, i don’t even know how to feel i need another rewatch
She never left the couch!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😔😔😔😔😔💔
I 100% knew that Rue would expire at the end of this season, however, the actual event has hit me way harder than I expected. Every time I think I'm fine, I fresh batch of tears starts flowing. Rue's dream/death sequence was so well shot. The motion, the colors, the lighting, all the clues that it wasn't reality even before the reveal...perfection.
