Aaron Alexander & John Humphrey react to Episodes 13–18 of FRIENDS Season 3, a legendary stretch that contains the show’s most defining relationship implosion and the emotional fallout that shaped the rest of the series. Created by David Crane & Marta Kauffman, this run takes FRIENDS from cozy rom-com energy into full-on “how are they gonna come back from this?” sitcom heartbreak — while still firing off classic jokes every five seconds. Episode this week include: “The One Where Monica and Richard Are Just Friends,” “The One with Phoebe’s Ex-Partner,” “The One Where Ross and Rachel Take a Break,” “The One the Morning After,” “The One Without the Ski Trip,” & “The One with the Hypnosis Tape.” This batch is stacked with highly searched, all-timer moments: Monica’s attempt to stay “just friends” with Richard detonates in emotional chaos; Phoebe meets her former singing partner and spirals into peak Phoebe insecurity; and then the show drops its most iconic one-two punch — Ross and Rachel’s “break” in Episode 15 and the devastating, ultra-quoted aftermath that follows (including the apartment showdown and the birth of the eternal “WE WERE ON A BREAK” debate). Episode 17 keeps the tension boiling with the gang’s aborted ski trip and Ross barging in on Rachel’s attempt to move forward, and Episode 18 brings needed comedic relief with the hypnosis-tape subplot and more ensemble mayhem. The iconic cast remains unbeatable: Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show, Marley & Me) as Rachel Green, David Schwimmer (Band of Brothers, Madagascar) as Ross Geller, Courteney Cox (Scream, Cougar Town) as Monica Geller, Matthew Perry (The Whole Nine Yards, 17 Again) as Chandler Bing, Matt LeBlanc (Episodes, Joey) as Joey Tribbiani, and Lisa Kudrow (Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, The Comeback) as Phoebe Buffay. If Season 3 is where FRIENDS becomes an era, Episodes 13–18 are where it becomes a phenomenon — hilarious, messy, and brutally real. #Friends #FriendsSeason3 #FriendsReaction #FriendsReview #RossAndRachel #WeWereOnABreak #TheMorningAfter #90sSitcom #CentralPerk #NBCFriends #ClassicTV #SitcomLegend #FriendsRewatch #ComedySeries #TVReaction #TVReview - FRIENDS Season 2, Episodes 1 - 6 Reaction: https://youtu.be/iHzP3-b0UNY - S2, Eps 7 - 12 Reaction: https://youtu.be/IhBdX_ExsBQ - S2, Eps 13 - 18 Reaction: https://youtu.be/QoGbsIh9XGk - S2, Eps 19 - 24 Reaction: https://youtu.be/xnUohR7vfgM Follow Aaron on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/therealaaronalexander/?hl=en 0:00 Checking In! 1:57 Friends 3x13 Reaction 18:49 Friends 3x14 Reaction 33:58 Friends 3x15 Reaction 48:59 SHOPIFY 50:39 Friends 3x16 Reaction 1:04:50 Friends 3x17 Reaction 1:19:27 Friends 3x18 Reaction 1:34:42 Friends Season 3 Review Intense Suspense by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ RR Clips & Shorts Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ReelRejectsClips Follow TheReelRejects On The Socials: https://www.instagram.com/reelrejects/ https://www.tiktok.com/@thereelrejects?lang=en https://twitter.com/thereelrejects https://www.facebook.com/TheReelRejects/ Music Used In Ad: Hat the Jazz by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Happy Alley by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Head Editor: https://www.instagram.com/praperhq/?hl=en Supervising Producer: https://twitter.com/nerdchronic?lang=en Co-Editor: Greg Alba Co-Editor: John Humphrey Music In Video: Airport Lounge - Disco Ultralounge by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow & Listen to Us Wherever You Get Your Podcasts!! - Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3XHMwbveiznxSOGxN9XT0M - Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vc3Rhci13YXJzLXRhbGs - Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-reel-rejects-tv-movie-recaps/id1616339990 - Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Apocalypse-Podcast/B08JJP58FG PLAYLISTS: Sketches & Short Films: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw_zWuTRfBOUP3aYyIYRzc2y

I honestly think the whole debate can be summed up and be done with by the one line Rachel said "don't try to get out of this on a technicality"

I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again – Ross is great as a friend, but terrible as a partner. It's not just that he jumped into bed with another woman five minutes after a fight and then expected to be immediately forgiven, but also his entire behavior in Rachel's office, his dismissive attitude towards her work, his behavior regarding Mark, etc. And we all know he's a cheater. The biggest cheater in this series.

Season 3 is where FRIENDS really picks up and gains it's status as a legendary show, with so many good episodes before the breakup, the tensions leading up to the breakup, and the amazing fallout after. Everything the show is known for truly starts with this season.

This is probably the first Friends reaction that I've ever seen people try to guess the episode title. I like it. 👍

Seeing this again after all these years, it occurs to me that these friends have a lot of boundary issues. Rachel told Ross she had to work, told Mark not to come over, and neither of them showed her a lick respect. Very patronising.
