People also need to care about local issues. And if their representatives are representing 300 mi of area that are not contiguous, then how are they supposed to coordinate and organize and ensure that their constituents are being heard. This is why we need independent redistricting for local purposes. Look at Memphis and what they did to Memphis. That makes absolutely no sense when we take race out of it. It's about local issues. I don't know if maybe that's an approach we can take to this.
