I live in St. Louis and work for the city, but I'm really disappointed in Ms. Jones. I’ve reached out to her multiple times to discuss the issues in my neighborhood, but I’ve never heard back. My neighborhood is being overrun by drugs, liquor bottles, needles, and trash, with only a few residents trying to keep it clean. The problem worsened after a certain alderwoman decided to take down the gate that was once a key deterrent against crime. Since that gate was removed, the entire dynamic of the community has shifted, and not in a positive way. I’ve tried to bring this up to Ms. Jones, but she hasn’t responded. I’ve also spent a lot of time speaking with the police, yet she hasn’t reached out to them either or even shown any appreciation for the hard work they do. There’s been no effort to support or offer them better pay, and she didn’t push back when the state decided to take over the police department. I love my people, but I can’t vote for someone just because they share my race. I need action, and I need our leaders to be more responsive to the needs of this city. And also keeping her responsible holding her accountable. I can remember when my neighborhood just a couple years ago was so beautiful clean and quiet its gone.
People, FBA's, please get out and vote. Ain't nothing going to change until you do. Future generations are going to be impacted by the decisions we make today.
I'm from New York but we all got to start realizing that these county elections lead to Big elections and we got to start with these small ones first, these are the ones that affect your neighborhood and your communities more
