1.19.2026 #RolandMartinUnfiltered: Honoring MLK. Jay Jones on Virginia. Jeffries vs ICE Raids. Crockett Slams GOP Cruelty as Policy People across the nation are honoring the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We will showcase how communities are commemorating the life of this civil rights icon. Virginia's first Black State Attorney General, Jay Jones, will join us to discuss King's legacy and his plans for the state. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries will be here to talk about how the Democrats are addressing the deadly ICE raids and the ongoing battle to keep healthcare costs affordable. In tonight's segment of Crocket Chronicles, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett will call out racial profiling, ICE overreach, and a government that continues to treat cruelty as policy. And Pastor Otis Moss III from Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ will explain why he believes ICE agents function as modern-day slave catchers and what Christians should be doing at this critical moment. #BlackStarNetwork partner: Fanbase https://www.startengine.com/offering/fanbase This Reg A+ offering is made available through StartEngine Primary, LLC, member FINRA/SIPC. Jeffries truly irritates me with his indecisiveness and those robot hands, but I guess he is leading as best as he can. We just need more passion and fervor for what is happening in/to America and the Black people who built America and the Latino people who gave to support America. I agree that we must come together to fight the THUG IN CHIEF, but we definitely need more passion and ACTION!! As ALWAYS an exceptional show with stellar contributors! Thank You, Roland for all you do to inform and empower Black America❤🖤💚

I really appreciate this discussion about the need for stronger media engagement from Millennials and Gen Z. As a Millennial myself, I’m constantly seeking out information through independent media outlets—including regularly watching Roland Martin Unfiltered—and I also make a point to share what I learn with friends and family. That said, I want to offer a “yes, and—” perspective. Yes, younger generations need to stay informed and news media also has to continue innovating how it engages these audiences. I rarely see Gen Z influencers or younger media personalities offering their perspectives within traditional news segments, and I don’t often see outlets going outside the studio to talk with everyday people about how issues are impacting their lives. Moving beyond the traditional news format is critical if we truly want to meet people where they are. Additionally, one of the most common pieces of feedback I hear from both Millennials and Gen Z is that the news feels overwhelmingly depressing, which discourages consistent engagement. We need more space for uplifting, solution-oriented stories alongside critical reporting. I believe that balance—combined with more inclusive and innovative storytelling—can help bring more people back into the habit of staying informed.
