Emotional and Financial Abuse are real issues too.
I love this show,, hope she come back .
Roland is correct about we must examine the Root, Cause, and Analysis of why our Black Men are not being treated for mental illnesses. Until we get them the treatment they need, we will continue seeing this horrific result.
Thank you Roland for your coverage of what's going on in our community and your heart to share ways in which we can heal from the messages that cause us to see each other as the enemy. I enjoy your content and have for years now. I appreciate you because you authentically show your heart for our community. It's beautiful to see and witness. Thanks for all you do. Know it's appreciated.
Everything start at Home, We have to continue to Do our work, INDIVIDUALLY!!!! Thank you for offering solutions. Praying for Healing for our families and our future
Iyanla is wrong for telling that female caller that she is overly involved in her son's relationship because she told her son's girlfriend that she needs to leave him because he is abusive. This whole convo is about how to intervene in DV incidents and mental health. The mother is doing just that. Iyanla needs to stop giving advice. She is too male centered to make an impact and is always tearing women down. She is not the the person for this conversation.
I will share what I've gotten from your show this evening..I will support you.. thank you Roland Martin SIR..
I am nearly 50. I was surrounded by widespread domestic violence since early, early childhood. My mother's Black husband beat her. I have 5 maternal aunts, all were married to Black men for decades and they all suffered domestic violence silently. That worthless church they attended is guilty of encouraging women to stick by those evil men. I secretly hate and resent my mother to this day because she tolerated all types of abuse in her marriage. I never wanted to be a woman like any other them. I have two cousins who were severely violent towards their Black wives. Even young males in my predominately Black high school showed signs of the perpetrator. I remember high school girls having blackeyes and bruising. After graduating high school, I left my family and small hometown in the South, and I never looked back because there was no way I was going to accept that BS. For self-preservation and sanity, Black women must wake up and completely walk away
Professional Therapy - for both men and women.
