Girl Filmed "Consent Video" After "Doing The Whole Hockey Team" Leads To SA Case Acquitted
Analyzing the Hockey Canada Sexual Assault Case: Trial Contradictions, Defense Tactics, and Systemic Fallout
Explore the conflicting testimonies, pervasive defense strategies, and systemic failures surrounding the high-profile Hockey Canada sexual assault trial. Understand why the verdict ultimately favored the five accused despite significant public scrutiny.
Short Summary
- The final verdict found the five accused professional ice hockey players not guilty on all sexual assault charges.
- Defense attorneys aggressively cross-examined the complainant (M) by focusing on her intoxication, subsequent behavior, and memory gaps, utilizing common rape myths.
- Stakeholders noted that systemic failures, including a weak initial police investigation in 2018/2019, severely limited the prosecution’s evidence pool.
- Witnesses presented widely differing timelines and memories, frequently contradicting the complainant’s account regarding her state of undress and active participation.
This summary reviews the evidence presented during the 2025 trial concerning the 2018 incident following a Hockey Canada gala. We isolate the core conflicts regarding consent, intoxication, the defense's use of trauma response narratives, and the subsequent professional fallout for the players involved.

In a burning Sun documentary one of the victims said that a man forced her take a photo of them together looking happy so that he could use the photo as evidence if she ever accused him. It's scary that predators have found ways to try to discredit victims and are sharing them somehow
They say now that they "weren't" interested, but not once did any of them ask her to leave. Nothing they say adds up 🤥
The fact that not even one of them walked into the room, saw what was happening, and said, “Guys, look at her — she’s drunk, stop it, leave her alone,” makes me so angry.
am i the only one who thinks that judge was paid under the table to go so easy on the abusers?
Imagine if you were at gunpoint and the person holding the gun was "joking" about shooting off your finger.
I told the guy after he r*ed me that I loved him. I guess, I wanted to make it feel "fine", but I pretty quickly regretted it once I realised what had happened. I lay awake next to him until it was very early in the morning and I felt save to leave. Cried the whole time on my way home. Still took me a very, very long time to actually grasp the whole reality of that night. Victims behave in various ways, and that's in no way a sign of them lying about what happened to them. This case is infuriating and I feel soooooooo much empathy for M!
the fact that some of them are MARRIED now is insane. What kind of woman would marry people like this????
M: I felt that I couldn't leave. Judge and the defense: Suspicios Hockey player: I felt that I couldn't leave. Judge and the defense: Valid.
As a Canadian I'm so ashamed of the justice systems. Thank you Stephanie for covering this case.
She's one women vs. SIXTEEN MEN who are TWICE her size and strength. Wtf was she supposed to do??? Fight her way out??
