"I'm here with two huge embarrassments," talking about his boss and his wife
I'm a teacher. I taught 5th grade one year... I had a girl come to me crying because she, no joke, thought she was dying because she was "bleeding down there." She'd gotten her first monthly friend... and she had no clue what it was! A few days later I saw her mom at the school and said hi. TLDR, mom basically told me she didn't bother filling her daughter in because she'd "just figure it out." It really is so sad how uneducated people have become and how nonchalant parents are toward their children's hormonal changes
“Bada bing bada boom - slurs” Laughed for 30 seconds at that
we're all glossing over the funnier possibility that the barnes and noble worker is ultra religious and legitimately thinks she's damned this man's soul or sumn
I had a genetics teacher that said every year in her class she had at least one person find out that they were either adopted or not biologically related to their father
So, in nursing school we were learning how to give pelvic exams. The instructor was telling us how to find the cervix and saying things like “you know what the female anatomy looks like” and me and the other two gay men in the class were like.. no.. She got mad and said we were being difficult and rude, and we must have interacted with one at some point, as though it was some universal experience everyone has had.
The bystander effect extends beyond emergency situations. Sometimes people just freeze up and do nothing because they feel awkward or dont know how to respond. So the drunk guy going 'oh this is happening' and then just sitting there isnt so wild as far as human behavior goes
“I’m here with 2 huge embarrassments” well that also hit me personally-
Oh god, the Venmo one hits hard for me. All the venmos i've made to friends, i've jokingly written stuff like "for the cocaine", "weapons grade uranium", "40kg of heroin" and so forth. God i hope i don't have to be audited for whatever reason
In highschool my biology teacher had us do punnett squares based on our parents eye color, and the girl across from me wasn't doing it. The teacher got really mad at her, she said I don't know my parents eye colors. Teacher got even more mad, saying "how do you not know your parents eye colors??" She blinked at him, said "...I'm adopted."
