A BIG Asteroid will Fly VERY CLOSE to Earth on September 18th as an "Asteroid Wave" Begins

Asteroid 2025 FA22 will fly within 2.2 lunar distances of Earth on September 18th at a velocity of ~10.8 km/s. This asteroid should pose no danger to Earth during this close fly by, but it's a stark reminder of the chaos and destructive potential hidden not only in the cosmos but even within our local interplanetary neighborhood. A new comet - SWAN 25B - has also just been observed and it's brightening nicely since discovery, getting close to the visual magnitude required to be visible to the unaided eye! Also a conspicuous wave of asteroids have been and will be flying by the Earth over the next few days, definitely a significant increase over normal background levels. All of this occurring as the third ever interstellar object observed - 3I/ATLAS - is shooting through the asteroid belt and is approaching the inner Solar System at incredible speed, setting up for perihelion on October 29th, 2025.
