I’m sorry I have to ask an obvious question. If the whole point of this mission was to take pictures of the backside of the moon, why did we send people? Wouldn’t it have been less dangerous to send a unmanned orbital probe? Why risk the lives of four astronauts to take a picture? Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to send an unmanned orbital probe? I’m sorry this doesn’t make any sense. Can anyone explain this choice?
