My father escaped Cuba on a raft in the 80s. Originally went to Miami, eventually became a citizen, and built himself a great life. And for 45 years he's swore up and down he'll NEVER go back to visit that communist hellscape, a promise he's kept that entire time. Knowing his story, it's fucking annoying seeing all these communist praise Cuba and their government. People who've never experienced a day of true hardship in their life praising a government that's oppressed their people for 70 years. Fuck them.

I am Cuban American. I came in the freedom flights over 55 years ago. What is happening in Cuba now, is nothing new. My mother a single mother at the time, was sent to prison 3 years for being anti-communist because she used to buy meat in the black market. I am in total agreement with her, exactly 💯🙏
