While I do agree that AI has largely changed the performance wars, I do heavily appreciate bun and vercel and all of the people still optimizing performance and request response time. Not everyone is building an App that has AI in it (tbh most apps shouldn't have AI in them lol), so having a app that responds quickly and feels snappy is amazing.
there is no insightful comments to read because im too early
bun monorepo support is the thing i want the most
old: runtime hip: buntime
Idk I think bun being a all in one thing is a quality of life improvement
I think adding SQL and Redis to Bun is a great idea.
not everyone is building a product around LLMs (in fact most are not) so I think focusing on performance remains significant.
bro gonna run YouTube out of space.
I have a VPS that runs Bun. I pay $110 a year and it can run up to 50 bun applications. I have 4 production apps running in Bun for the last 2 years with zero downtime. I love Bun and I do support the “batteries included”idea.
Bun being the all-in-one toolkit that is faster than anything else is better than a fragmented JS ecosystem of tools you have to pick and choose from. Removes the choice of having to pick and saves mental energy for important decisions.
