Honestly, businesses have been asking us our pronouns for decades. If you ever filled out a form where you needed to check a box for “Mr.”, “Mrs.”, or “Miss”, that was so when they sent you a form letter, not only did they know how to address you at the top of the letter but also so they knew the right pronouns to use in the letter.
